Erdington Village Green - A wonderful open space!

At the top of the Erdington High Street is the Erdington Village Green. There is a stone tablet dating to 1887 here from Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee and a new information sign.

Where is Erdington Village Green?

Erdington Village Green is at Orphanage Road, Erdington, Birmingham, B23 6SA. At the top end of the Erdington High Street.

In brief

This area was known as Rowden's End, an area where poorer people tethered their goats. It was later known as The Green for many centuries. It is now known as The Village Green when it was enclosed and gifted to the people of Erdington in commemoration of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887.

Sphere Fountain

Just in front of the village green was this sphere fountain, but it was completely removed in the spring of 2015. And has not returned to the space.
